The gear features a two-tone design: red on the left side and green–blue on the right, indicating the combination of traditional and modern/clean forms of energy, as well as the transition toward sustainable energy solutions. At the center, a lightning-shaped symbol dominates, expressing electrical energy, power technology, and the dynamic nature of the field. Its symmetrical placement within the gear unifies the electrical and mechanical domains—just as the Department integrates energy sciences with systems and their technological applications. Surrounding the emblem are the inscriptions “University of Thessaly” and “Department of Energy Systems,” highlighting the academic identity and institutional framework of the Department.

The emblem and the logo represent the visual identity of the Department, contributing to its recognition and to the communication of its mission. They are used in official documents, websites, presentations, printed materials, and other Departmental activities.

The reproduction and use of the logo must follow proper application guidelines:

• Adequate clear space must always be maintained around the logo to prevent interference from other graphics or text.
• The shape, proportions, and colors of the logo must not be altered without prior approval.
• The appropriate version of the logo should be used depending on the background (dark or light) and the language of the accompanying text.
